R. Michael Coker, Lead Attorney

Michael Coker has quickly established himself as one of Gwinnett County’s premier personal injury attorneys. A life-long Gwinnett resident, Michael has dedicated his career to helping victims of accidents, slip and falls, apartment shootings, and negligence. Since 2014, he has been named one of the “Top 40 Lawyers Under 40” by the National Trial Lawyers and he was recently named as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, a national publication which honors less than 2.5% of all lawyers in the State of Georgia as being top of their field.

Despite his busy schedule, Michael insists on still meeting each and every client individually because client satisfaction is what is most important. Michael’s results speak for themselves, but his clients attest to his level of compassion and service. That is why his client have voted him “Best of Gwinnett” every year since 2015. Emily Verhine, Associate Attorney

Emily Verhine brings her years of trial experience as a juvenile court advocate to the Law Offices of R. Michael Coker. Prior to joining the firm, Emily represented the Gwinnett County Department of Child and Family Services in juvenile court. As an advocate for the county to protect children in danger, Emily’s important work helped hundreds of children in Gwinnett County get the help and support they needed.  She brings that same level of passion and experience to the Law Offices of R. Michael Coker in protecting the rights of the injured here in Gwinnett County.

Emily received her law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law and was a member of the Law Review.  Emily also holds a master’s degree in Conflict Management, making her the perfect advocate for the injured as they navigate the complex lawsuit process. Emily understands that litigation and lawsuits can be difficult to understand, so she takes every step to ensure that clients feel comfortable with the process.  Emily has proven herself as a valuable member of the legal team.

Erin Burbank, Litigation Paralegal

Originally from Trafalgar, Indiana, Erin Burbank is new to Georgia and Gwinnett County, but not new to the legal system. Holding a bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies from Ball State University, Erin works to assist the attorneys with all aspects of litigation. Erin has experience in multiple areas of law, which enhances her ability to provide new perspectives to our clients’ cases. Erin’s experiences both professionally and personally allow her to be compassionate and understanding with clients.

Erin’s knowledge of the legal system allows her to explain the litigation process in an easy-to-understand manner to our clients. Erin is proficient in legal research and excels in legal drafting which makes her an asset to our firm. With organization as a top priority in all phases of litigation, Erin works hard to ensure clients stay informed and each case moves efficiently through the litigation process.

Lily Cabrera, Legal Administrative Assistant

Lily is the firm’s front desk specialist who provides a smiling face and a friendly voice to clients that call or visit our office. Lily is also bilingual and speaks both English and Spanish fluently. Lily understands that an accident of injury can be traumatic, so she is always willing to offer visitors a cup of coffee and an ear to listen to any client issues or concerns.

From Lawrenceville, Lily takes pride in giving members of the Gwinnett community peace of mind when they are going through some of the most difficult times in their lives. Lily helps makes clients feel comfortable and pleased with the level of service they receive from the Law Offices of R. Michael Coker.

Bridget Clingan, Case Development Manager

Bridget is the firm’s client liaison and medical claims specialist.  Bridget acts as a bridge between our clients, their medical providers, insurance companies, and our firm.  Her knowledge of information systems ensures that client files are well-documented for medical providers and that insurance companies receive periodic updates needed to maximize the value of our clients’ claims.  Bridget’s knowledge and experience in the industry makes her an expert in the field.

Raised in Gwinnett County and a graduate of the University of Georgia, Bridget is proud to return to her Gwinnett roots to serve the people of this community.  Bridget is the point-of-contact for anyone needing information about the case process or medical treatment.

Bruce Coker, Firm Marketing Manager

With thirty-plus years of sales background, Bruce gave up his self-employment to become the Marketing Director for his son. Bruce acts as the firm’s physician and chiropractor representative, known for his dedication to showing medical providers that their patients are in great hands with the Coker firm. Given Michael’s busy schedule, Bruce also becomes a point of contact for physicians, chiropractors, and other community leaders to answer questions about the firm and various cases.

As Bruce’s role continues to grow within the firm, he serves as a great reminder of the Law Offices of R. Michael Coker commitment to the community. The firm is willing to always go the extra mile to ensure that the residents of Gwinnett and the surrounding counties are provided with top quality legal services.

Nick Crabb, Operations Manager

Nick Crabb worked for some of Georgia’s largest insurance companies for over fifteen years. As a claims manager, Nick was responsible for managing teams of a dozen or more insurance adjusters who relied on him to provide guidance with the value of insurance claims. Now, he works against many of those same insurance companies to maximize the amount of the settlement for injured victims.

Nick’s unique history in the insurance world gives him a perspective that many law firms cannot provide. Nick knows the types of arguments that maximize a settlement. Nick is not afraid to do anything he can to increase the value of a file, even if it means involving the claims manager to put more money on the case.

Magen Davis, Executive Assistant/Office Manager

There is a reason that Magen is responsible for ensuring that the law firm runs at peak efficiency: her organization and focus is unmatched. As the Executive Assistant to Michael, Magen is responsible for working with doctor’s offices, facilitating court appearances and scheduling, and confirming our clients’ cases settle quickly and efficiently. Magen comes to our firm with a medical administration background, and she knows what needs to be done to ensure that our firm’s cases reach a settlement in the shortest amount of time.

Magen’s understanding and knowledge of the firm’s processes and obligations allows us to maximize the recovery for our clients. While other firms might require months or even years to settle their client’s cases, Magen keeps our firm and its attorneys operating at maximum efficiency.

Hank Hill, Property Manager

With the firm located at 90 Langley Drive across the street from the Gwinnett County Justice and Administration Center, the grounds and facilities of the law firm require frequent management and upkeep. Hank Hill goes the extra mile to ensure that our clients have a comfortable, clean, and well-maintained office complex to visit for consultations, depositions, and meetings.

Joseph Russo, Case Manager

Joseph Russo graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Insurance and Risk Management. Joseph joined our firm in 2020 to add his expertise and experience as a case manager for our clients who are navigating the insurance claims process after a serious injury.

From Dacula, Georgia, Joseph takes pride in helping members of the Gwinnett County community navigate the complex and complicated world of insurance claims. Joseph’s attention to detail and willingness to fully prepare the presentation of your case to an insurance company shows his commitment to our clients for the best possible settlement of their case.

Kylie Wagar, Intake Specialist

Kylie Wager’s years in customer service explain why she is the firm’s Intake Specialist.  First impressions matter.  When a potential client calls a law firm, they want to talk to someone that is both knowledgeable and willing to offer solutions.

Kylie gives new and potential clients that peace of mind.  She is willing to put our client’s first and assure them that our firm is handling their legal matter quickly, professionally, and effectively.  Kylie can answer all the client’s initial questions and provide much needed support in the initial phases of the case.
